Horn
Horn buttons are a high-quality natural product made from the horns of water buffalo or cattle and are a sustainable alternative to plastic buttons. After cleaning and cutting, the horn pieces are heated and pressed into flat plates from which round blanks are punched or cut. The buttons are given their final shape by turning and milling before holes are drilled and surfaces are refined. A final quality control ensures that each button is unique due to its individual grain. Those who rely on regional horn sources can reduce transport routes and CO₂ emissions and thus actively contribute to sustainability. One example of this is the LOTTA LUDWIGSON label, which works with a buffalo farm in Germany.
