Find your right size

Find your right size

How do I find my right size?

Did you know that the most common reason for returns in the fashion sector is a wrong size? Not surprising, is it? The best thing you can do is write down your measurements and carry them with you as a note on your cell phone. A one-time effort with great potential to save frustration ;)

Here's how to take your measurements:

This is what you need...

  • Materials : You will need a flexible tape measure, a mirror and possibly a notepad to record the measurements. Don't have a tape measure? Then use a scarf, a dog leash or a charging cable with a counterweight, which you can later use to compare with a ruler.
  • Clothing : Wear tight-fitting clothing or underwear to get more accurate measurements.
  • Make sure the tape measure is not twisted and always runs parallel to the floor.

Find your measure..

Chest measurement:

  • Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart and breathe normally.
  • Place the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, making sure it is horizontal, comfortable and does not cut into you.

Waist measurement:

  • Find the narrowest part of your waist (usually just above your belly button).
  • Place the tape measure around your waist and make sure it fits snugly but is not tight.

hip measurement:

  • Stand with your feet together and find the fullest part of your hips.
  • Place the tape measure around your hips and make sure it is horizontal.

shoulder width:

  • Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder to the other. The best measurement is the back measurement (so it's best to ask a friend).
  • Make sure you stand straight and that the tape measure is not too tight (your shoulders will need room later).

Sleeve length:

  • Let your arm hang loosely at your side.
  • Measure from the shoulder to the wrist.

leg length:

  • Measure from crotch to ankle.
  • Make sure the tape measure is straight.

    Last Check

    • Double check all measurements to make sure they are correct.
    • It may be helpful to ask someone for help to get more accurate measurements.
    • Remember to make a note on your cell phone so that you always have the information at hand.

    Friendly Reminder:

Bodies are unique and so is comfort. Don't be afraid of saying things like "I'm too fat/thin for this piece of clothing". You are ALWAYS exactly right.
