Collection: label CORLAE

What is behind CORLAE?

I was already interested in upcycling during my fashion design studies and was curious about the possibilities of reviving fabrics instead of throwing them away. After my studies, I did an internship in Amsterdam with an up-and-coming label. I was totally inspired by the diverse methods and - back in Hanover - I found the heart of my collection by chance. I was standing in my parents' basement and discovered white linen, my great-grandmothers' trousseau. With a lot of creativity and enthusiasm, I began to design a collection from the delicate cotton and linen lace. I made blouses out of pillowcases, summer dresses out of window curtains and trousers out of tablecloths.

What was your basic motivation?

My basic motivation was and is to create unique, everyday wearable fashion that reflects today's zeitgeist. It is important to me that the people who wear my fashion feel empowered in who they are and what they radiate. This is how I create unique pieces for unique women.

Which fashion quotes or style icons have inspired you?

It's not so much individual icons or quotes as the people who surround me every day or who I meet on the street. I think the spirit of the times is always expressed by those who represent it and that is each and every one of us. Styles that have always excited, inspired and influenced me are those of Helmut Lang, Dies van Noten and Rei Kawakubo, for example. True artists in their field.

What do you want to convey to women with your fashion?

It is important to me that women can live and radiate their self-confidence. My fashion should support them in going their own way and representing their individual self
